meet the rossis

our story

Lorenzo grew up in Uruguay. At the age of twelve, he was invited to an youth outreach hosted by some GMSA missionaries. A short time later, he understood his need for Christ as his personal Savior and Lord. During high school, he worked at UCB camp and was challenged to surrender his life to full time ministry. God opened the door for Lorenzo to study at Appalachian Bible College to prepare to serve the Lord in his home country.

Hannah grew up in Brazil with missionary parents. At the age of five, she understood that her sin demanded a need for Christ’s perfect sacrifice on the cross to pay the penalty of her sin. In high school, Hannah surrendered her life to full-time ministry at a summer camp in Missouri. After a missions trip to the Philippines and Japan, God led her to study Elementary Education and Bible & Theology at Appalachian Bible College. During her time on the missions trips and attending Bible college, Hannah believed that God was leading her to return to the mission field.

After getting married in May of 2021, Lorenzo and Hannah began the process of applying for Lorenzo’s green card. Upon receiving his green card, Lorenzo started a pastoral internship at Hannah’s home church, Southern View Chapel, in Springfield, IL. Lorenzo is also studying at Faith Bible Seminary in Lafayette, Indiana, to complete a Masters in Divinity.

In June of 2023, the Rossis were accepted as missionary candidates with GMSA. As a couple, they are burdened for the local churches in Uruguay, the need for theologically sound preaching, and seeing others discipled and trained to serve the body of Christ. Lord willing, upon receiving Lorenzo’s USA citizenship, the Rossis will church plant in Uruguay for God’s glory!

OUR GOAL & BURDEN

All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will worship before you. Psalm 22:27

OUR GOAL & BURDEN

God commanded believers to take the gospel to the lost, so that one day Christ’s promise in Revelation 7:9-11, “that all will fall on their faces before the throne and worship God”, will be fulfilled. We desire to see the lost in Uruguay turn to the Lord for salvation, but we also recognize the need for discipleship that follows conversion. Thus, our goal is to work with other GMSA missionaries and the Union Centros Biblicos, an established network of five churches, to continue the work in Uruguay. We will be involved in church planting, discipling believers, training of new leaders in sound doctrine, and equipping the local church in preparation for reproduction.

OUR MISSION FIELD

Uruguay

OUR MISSION FIELD

Uruguay is home to 3.5 million people. Most are Italian or German descendants who value time with family and a good mate, an herbal, hot drink served in a gourd. This tiny nation, located beneath Brazil, is considered the least religious country in South America with many claiming to be secular or atheists. The nation’s indifference to the gospel and slow evangelical church growth leaves Uruguay as a country with great needs for the truth of God’s Word! OUR FUTURE TIMELINE

We are currently in the process of renewing Lorenzo’s green card. Once the new green card has arrived, we will wait one more to begin Lorenzo’s citizenship process. Throughout this time, Lorenzo will finish seminary and his internship. In June of 2025, Lord willing, we will begin full time deputation. Once God has provided for our support needs, and Lorenzo has been granted US citizenship, we will move to Uruguay to begin ministering there.
